Our founders were Oregon homeowners first. They tried to hire a contractor to replace a storm-damaged roof in October 2020. Three contractors didn't show up to the estimate appointment. One showed up, quoted $8,400 on a napkin, then re-quoted $14,200 on invoice day. A fourth gave a proper written quote — and disappeared mid-project.

The roof eventually got done. The house eventually got dry. But the experience was so infuriating that it became the spec for a new Oregon contractor — the one we wished we could've hired.
